Bangladesh National Cricket team has thrown a target of 266 runs
for Afghanistan National Cricket team in the first One-Day international
of three match ODI series at the Sher-e-Bangla National cricket stadium, Mirpur. And unsurprisingly the highest contribution of 80 runs came from the bat of one of the most prolific batsmen of Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal.
Tamim has scored 80 runs from 98 balls today. And in his way of scoring these runs Tamim has managed to touch a remarkable milestone. This dashing opener of Bangladesh was only 15 runs behind from the milestone of 9000 international runs.
He didn’t make any fault in touching this valuable landmark and became the 89th batsman to score 9000 international runs. Tamim is the first Bangladeshi batsman to reach that milestone.
It is to be noted that he is the highest run scorer of Bangladesh in all three formats of the game. This tiger has scored 3118 Test runs, 1154 T-20 runs while number of ODI runs in his account is now 4795 runs.
Sachin Tendulkar is leading the list with 34357 runs while Kumar Sangakkara (28016 runs) and Ricky Ponting (27483 runs) are in the second and third position of that list of highest international runs.
In term of Bangladeshi batsmen Shakib Al Hasan is standing in very next position of Tamim with 8372 runs. Till now Mushfiqur Rahim has scored 7279 international runs.
